On Tuesday November 3rd, Kenneth William Davis of Ghent, Ny passed away peacefully at his home following a brief illness. He was known as “Bill” to his friends and family.

Bill is the son of the late Kenneth and Charlotte (Alamillo) Davis. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Doris (Oles) Davis and siblings Jim Davis, Charlene Davis, Frank Davis, Harold Davis and Joanne (Davis) Halstead. Bill is survived by siblings Don (Lynda) Davis, Tom (Laura) Davis, Gary (Ann) Davis, Peter (Ellen) Davis Judy (Charles) Siter along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Bill graduated from Chatham Central School in 1955. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was proud of his work the B-52. He was a long time member and past president of the Ghent Volunteer Fire Company No. 1. He was a founding member of the “Buckleyville Bombers,” a local baseball team. Bill was a member of Maranatha Christian Church in Chatham, NY.

Bill worked as a butcher for many local markets including Hess Market and the Chatham Food Locker in Chatham, NY. He retired from New York State Electric and Gas Co in Chatham, NY where he worked for many years.

Bill loved to reminisce about the good ole days with friends and family. He and his wife Doris enjoyed travelling to York Beach, ME and Sanibel Island, FL. He also travelled to Minnesota frequently to visit his lifetime friends Richard (Pelon) and Ellie Reichle.

The family would also like to acknowledge Hope Barringer, Shelly Summers and other close friends and family who faithfully sat by his side during his illness providing laughter and friendship.

Interment will be at the family’s convenience at the Ghent Union Cemetery.
