Joseph Yannone, age 95, of Catskill, died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Pines in Catskill. He was born November 2, 1925 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the son of the late Joseph and Mabel (Wagenbaugh) Yannone. Joseph served in the United States Army Air Force, and was a veteran of World War II. He was an employee of Holcim Cement Company in Catskill until his retirement at age 85.

Joseph is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Yannone of Athens; a sister, Laura Romak; 6 grandchildren, Zef (Nancy) Yannone, Shana Yannone (Tim), Sabrina Ersken, Kayla Ersken (John), Niki Jo Yannone (Tommy), Shawn Speenburgh; 8 great-grandchildren, Zaida, Briana, Zefi, Kaden, Nico, Jace, Vincenzo, Tomi Rose; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Bernice T. Yannone on May 12, 2018; a son, Joseph A. “JoJo” Yannone; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis (Gjergji) Yannone; and three siblings, William McCarthy, Dottie Barra and Robert Yannone.

Relatives and friends may call 4 – 6PM Wednesday at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. A graveside funeral service and interment with full military honors will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at the Town of Catskill Cemetery.
