Jeanette “Jean” Patella

Jeanette “Jean” Patella, 89, of Claverack, passed away November 18, 2021 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Born October 23, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, she is the daughter of Anthony and Constance (Fallica) Commegna. Jean’s career was as a dental assistant in Brooklyn. She loved music, especially Nat King Cole. Jean enjoyed sharing her singing talents with sing a longs at Whittier Nursing Center in Ghent. She enjoyed all types of crafts, and was an accomplished oil painter and sketch artist. Jean along with her husband Gene were very active within the People’s Bible Church. Together they enjoyed Bible study, and Jean was very passionate about ministry to those incarcerated.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 62 years Gene Patella, daughter and son in law Christine and Ed Diffley, granddaughter Tara Holmes, great grandson Talon Murray, along with sisters Mildred Grilli and Emily Micelli, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home are Sunday November 21, from 3:00-7:00pm. Funeral services from the funeral home are Monday November 22, at 1:00pm. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Catskill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean’s name are encouraged to be made to the People’s Bible Church.
