James B. LeSuer


James B. LeSuer, age 69, of Cairo, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on November 4, 2020.

Jim was born on Oct. 2, 1951, in Poughkeepsie, NY and was the son of the late James A. LeSuer and Marion G. (Tinney) LeSuer.

Jim is survived by Gail LeSuer, his loving wife of 47 years, and their five children: Elizabeth L. Pratt and her husband Sean, Erin LeSuer, James C. LeSuer and his wife Emily, Shane M. LeSuer, and Katie LeSuer. Jim is also survived by his eight beautiful grandchildren Lauren, Thomas, Emily, Caitlin, Sam, Hannah, Fiona and Cecilia, as well as by his brother-in- law Fred Engelmann, his two sisters- in -law Carol Engelmann and Mina Byrne, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends who are like family.

During his lifetime, Jim shared his gifts with the world through teaching and real estate development. Jim loved music and shared his wonderful voice as a member of the Sacred Heart Church (Cairo) choir for thirty years. He especially loved golfing and was a member of The Blackhead Mountain Men’s Golf League for many years. Jim was always especially happy during the Christmas season, and loved having his whole family together then and as often as possible.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, NY, on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.

Mass of The Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Sacred Heart Church in Cairo, NY, at 10:00 A.M. with celebrant Fr. Jay Atherton.

Interment will follow in the family plot of the Cairo Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (www.thedivinemercy.org) or to the Albany chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Condolences may be made at www.richardsfuneralhomeinc.net.
