Georgia Mary Williams Forbes

Sunrise: December 28, 1944 Sunset: July 24, 2020 Georgia Mary Williams Forbes, who has been affectionately known for decades as “Lady Forbes”, was born on December 28, 1944 in Blakely, GA through the marital union of Charlie Williams and Lorene Hall. One of her brothers, Charlie Williams, Jr., predeceased her, and the remaining siblings still living include: Addie Walker, Bennie Bostick, Albert Williams, Gloria Williams, JL Williams and Gregory Biggins.

Lady Forbes is survived by her husband, Godfrey Forbes, along with 2 children, Alex and April Forbes, with 3 sons predeceasing her. Lady Forbes has 3 grandchildren: Michael, Alex, and Adrianna. Lady Forbes married Godfrey Forbes in West Palm Beach, Fl. on February 2, 1969 and then relocated to Hudson, NY. She worked for many years in the healthcare industry before attending both Stratford Institute and Austin Beauty School. Spanning for more than a decade, Lady Forbes was the manager of Aprile’s House of Beauty Salon, and also the joint owner of G&A Real Estate Co.

She was a licensed missionary in the Church of God in Christ, Inc. denomination and served faithfully as the First Lady of Holy Temple in Hudson, NY for over 50 yrs alongside her husband, who is the church’s Pastor, and, for the last few yrs, as the First Lady of Galilee Pentecostal Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. Lady Forbes was also a servant of her local community, volunteering in numerous charitable endeavors and providing financial support for worthwhile causes. She will be forever remembered for her beautifully warming and welcoming smile and uplifting inspiring vocal chords. On July 24, 2020, 9:34pm, at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson, NY, Lady Forbes passed away.

Calling hours will be held at Sacco Funeral, 700 Town Hall Drive, Hudson, NY on July 31, 2020 between 5:30pm-7:30pm, and masks must be worn by all attendees. An outdoor Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 1, 2020 between 9:00am-10:30am at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park, 1 Water Street, Hudson, NY, and masks must be worn by all attendees. The interment ceremony will be held at Cedar Park Cemetery, 20 Columbia Turnpike, Hudson, NY at 11:00am on August 1, 2020and masks must be worn by all attendees.
