Elizabeth Shook, 81, formerly of Claverack died Monday, Dec. 30 at her residence in Rensselaer, NY. She first came to Ancram and then Copake where she worked on the family farm. She worked as a seamstress in the textile business at various factory’s in the area. She was a member of Mellenville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, loved crocheting and was an avid watcher of golf. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family which includes sons, Robert M. Shook and wife Rachel of Hillsdale, Patrick J. Shook and fiance Eleanor of Hudson and a daughter Kimberly J. Hayes and husband Don of Queensbury, NY. Two sisters Shirley Rochester of Ghent and Jean Myers of Philmont, 2 brothers Earl and Valerie Winfield of Schodack and Lew and Barbara Winfield of Hollowville, 3 grandchildren Erik and Brandon Shook and Gunnar K. Hayes, 4 great grandchildren Damian and Kandace Shook and Madalyn and Roman Hayes. She was pre-deceased by her husband Leroy Henry Shook and son Timothy L. Shook in 2011 and sister Joanne Hanlon.

Calling hours will be at the Sacco Funeral Home, Monday 1/6 from 4-6 PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday 1/7 at 11 AM at the Sacco Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Coddington officiating. Burial will be at West Copake Reformed Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers please send donations to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
