Edward Joseph Pulver, 72, husband of Peggy Pulver, died Thursday, June 4, 2020. He passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Hudson, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Amelia Kitchie Pulver. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Matthew Pulver and wife, Leslie Gal; daughter, Melanie Hendrix and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Chase Hendrix, Calvin Hendrix, Hampton Pulver, and Huey Pulver; and sisters, Gail Howard and husband, Roger, sister Abby Shook and husband, Jerry, Anne Shepard and husband, Chris, and Maura Pulver. Ed is remembered as a wonderful husband and father, as well as a loving “Poppy” to his grandchildren. The oldest of five siblings, Ed was proud of his many nieces, nephews, grandniece and grandnephew. Ed had a lifelong devotion to his God, his family and his faith. He was a devout parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lagrange, Georgia, for 40 years, where he expressed his faith in the choir, as cantor, on the softball team, and as a committed contributor to St. Vincent de Paul. After moving, Ed became a faithful member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina. A lover of music, Ed was a member of the Choral Society of West Georgia, of which he served a term as president. After moving to Simpsonville, he continued his love of singing as a member of the Fountain Inn Chorale. Ed’s steadfast dedication extended to his career, working more than 40 years for Zep. In his free time, Ed loved sports, especially playing golf. He is with his best friend, the late Dave Green, and father-in-law playing a round.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church followed by burial in Graceland East Memorial Park.
