David Cassimore, Jr.


David Cassimore, Jr. age 74 years, of Cairo, passed away on July 16, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, N.Y.

He was born on October 28, 1946, in Dover, N.J. and is the son of the late David and Marion (Butterman) Cassimore.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife Diana, his two sisters Louann McCarthy and Marie White, and also his brother George Cassimore.

During David’s lifetime, he served his country proudly in The United States Army from 1966-1968.

David was employed as a foreman and retired from The Rosch Brothers Contracting, Inc. in Latham, N.Y.

David was a past Fire Commissioner of The Cairo Fire District, and he was a life member of The Cairo Hose Company, Cairo, N.Y.

Survivors include his daughter Heather Jump of Cairo, N.Y., his grandson Justin Jump of Cairo, N.Y., his brother Philip Cassimore of Scotia, his sister Elaine Donahue of N.M., his four brother- in -laws Mark and Richard Grupe of Cairo, Michael McCarthy of FL, and Ray White of Catskill, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will take place on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 10:00 A.M., where David will join his wife, at the family plot of The Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, N.Y. The Cairo Hose Company will hold a memorial reading of The Fireman’s Prayer at the cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. 12413.

The Family would like to thank St. Peter’s Hospital especially the I.C. U. Unit and The Critical Care Unit and the nursing staff for the care that they have shown to our family during this time.
