Cheryl Lynn Shorts, nicknamed She She, age 59, of Catskill, died Monday December 31, 2020 at Lee Healthcare Facility in Lee, Massachusetts after many years of battling Huntington’s Disease. Cheryl was born December 9, 1961 in Albany, NY, the daughter of Cynthia Devine and Charles M. Shorts.

Cheryl attended Catskill Central Schools and sought employment in the Catskill area prior to her illness. Cheryl loved her family; especially her nephew who would stop and visit. She loved to dress, and everything had to match. Cheryl was also an immaculate housekeeper.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Cynthia Shorts-Fields; an aunt, Jacqueline Jackson (Willie), and Annabelle Newsome of Albany; cousins, Holly Brantley (Jerome), Natalie Irvis (Robert), Lisa Newsome of Albany; nephew, Martin Devine; niece, Lyric Robinson of Schenectady and nephew Javone Coleman.

Cheryl was predeceased by her father Charles; four siblings, Sean, Nicole, Dawn and Martin; and her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Russell (Nan). A special thank you to Colleen McKinnon and Queenie Ann Barnhill for visiting Cheryl at Lee Healthcare.

Graveside funeral services under the direction of Traver & McCurry Funeral Home will be held 11 AM Thursday at the Town of Catskill Cemetery. Reverend Frank Dixon will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America/HDSA.org.
