Carolyn Hallock Hansen

Carolyn Hallock Hansen, 83. of Beloit, WI, passed away on May 8, 2020 in her home while in prayer with her friends. She was born November 2, 1936, only daughter of Betsy Miller Hallock and Cecil C. Hallock, in the hospital in Catskill, NY. She attended Rocky Store School , a one room school, thru 6th grade, and then attended Coxsackie Athens Central School graduating in 1953. She attended Syracuse University on a Regents Scholarchip earning a degree in music education in 1957. Married Carl Balson in 1958 and moved to Beloit, WI. Earned a degree in accounting from Blackhawk Community College in 1974. Divorced from Carl in 1978. Earned an MBA from UW Whitewater in 1984 and married Howard Hansen that year.

She was active as a volunteer and in many civic organizations, particularly with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Beloit. Worked as an accountant for several firms in Beloit. First Treasurer of the Women’s Fund of the Stateline Comunity Foundation. Predeceased by her father, mother,youngest brother Pete, both husbands, son Daniel and stepson Steven Hansen. Survived by brothers Larry (Faye) Hallock, Robert (Ann) Hallock, siste-in-law Doris Hallock all of Hannacroix, NY, daughters Janet Balson of Medford, OR, Sally Balson, of Madison, WI, and granddaughter Beth Balson of Madison.

Memorials to the Women’s Fund of Stateline Community Foundation of Beloit, WI. Memorial service to be held at a later date at St. Paul’s Church.
