Barbara Jean Rockefeller, 76, a lifelong resident of Rhinebeck, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY.

Born on March 29th, 1945, in Rhinebeck, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Coon) Cunningham. Barbara married Charles “Bill” Rockefeller on August 9, 1964 at Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck, NY, and Bill survives at home.

For over 24 years, and until her recent retirement in August of 2020, Barbara worked as a custodian at for the Rhinebeck Central School at Chancellor Livingston, Bulkeley Middle School, and the Rhinebeck High School. Previously she had worked for Federal Bearing in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Loved by all who knew her, Barbara is survived by her loving husband Charles “Bill” Rockefeller of Rhinebeck, NY; her son and daughter in law, William & Cathy Rockefeller of Hudson, NY; her sister, Mary Athanas of Rhinebeck, NY; her grandson, Mitchell Robideau; three great granddaughter’s; along with many extended family, colleagues, and friends.

Her brothers, Thomas Cunningham, and Roland Coon predeceased her.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook on Friday, April 9th, 2021 from 5 to 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook, NY. Fr. Douglas Y. Crawford will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.

Due to Covid-19/ NYS Guidelines- masks, social distancing, & capacity limitations will be adhered to during all services. During visitation, please be respectful to those who may be waiting to visit by keeping your stay brief if possible. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you.
