British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was admitted to a hospital on Sunday 10 days after testing positive for the novel coronavirus, has been moved into an intensive care unit, the BBC is reporting.
Johnson has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to act as his deputy as needed, according to the report.
“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital,” a spokesperson said.
Johnson, 55, was diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 26. He had been quarantined in his Downing Street residence until Sunday when he was admitted to a hospital.
