Dec. 6

KINDERHOOK — Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21 Broad St., Kinderhook, annual Candlelight Night Open House will be held 5:30-8:30 p m. Dec. 6 in conjunction with Kinderhook Village Candlelight Walk celebration. KRC Open House will feature tours of the decorated sanctuary, the Fontanini Nativity, cookie decorating, refreshments and community fellowship in the Fellowship Room.

LIVINGSTON — The Township of Livingston will kick off the holiday season by hosting its annual “Christmas in Livingston” celebration on Dec. 6. At 5:30 p.m. the Linlithgo Reformed Church in Livingston on Church Road will hold a supper with a choice of soups, tossed salad and fresh baked bread. Free will offerings will be accepted. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Singing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Town Gazebo. Following at the Town Hall will be a dessert buffet and the Livingston Recreation Association will host a children’s Christmas party.

COPAKE — The Friends of Roeliff Jansen Community Library will host the annual cookies, soup and books sale 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 at the library, 9091 Route 22, Copake. Take the stress out of holiday shopping with affordable gifts and yummy snacks courtesy of The Friends of RJCL’s annual holiday sale. The Friends will be selling holiday books and gifts, as well as homemade cookies and soup, in the library’s Community Room. The Friends’ bookstore will also be open on these days for holiday shopping. For information on hours and events, call 518 325-4101.

GREENPORT — Sacred Heart-Mount Carmel Shrine, 442 Fairview Ave., Greenport, will be having pizza takeout Dec. 6. Orders can be called in from noon-6 p.m. with pickups from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Call 518-828-8775. Pizzas are $10 with additional toppings $1 each. Bake at home pizzas will be available.

ANCRAM — The Ancram Opera House will present a new music-theatre adaptation of The Snow Queen, the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, in a staged concert in December, with book and lyrics by Barbara Wiechmann, music by Lisa Dove, and direction by Jeffrey Mousseau. Performances are at 7 p.m. Dec. 6, 7 and 13 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 8, 14 and 15. Adult tickets are $25 and available at ancramoperahouse.org. Children will be admitted free. This production is not recommended for children younger than nine.

Dec. 7

COPAKE — The Knit Club of Hudson Valley will host a craft and bake sale 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Copake Community Center, 305 Mountain View Road, Copake. There will be knitted and crocheted items for all ages including doll clothes, kitchen towels, market totes; homemade jams, jellies, breads and cookies. Lunch will be served, eat in or take out available and includes coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Proceeds to be donated to charitable organizations.

OLD CHATHAM — “The River and the Wall” will be screened Dec. 7. Potluck at 6 p.m. followed by the film at 7 p.m. in the Old Chatham Quaker Meetinghouse, 539 County Route 13, Old Chatham. Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and a moderated discussion will follow. For information, call 518-610-3735.

RED HOOK — The Hollyday Bazaar will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Red Hook United Methodist Church, 4 Church St., Red Hook. Sales include attic treasures, crafts, jewelry, holiday wreaths and swags, toys, books, baked goods and candy, in addition to the snack bar for brunch or lunch and live music throughout the day. STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Berkshire Botanical Garden, 5 West Stockbridge Road, Stockbridge, Mass., presents the Berkshire Botanical Garden Holiday Marketplace 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 7 and Dec. 8. This annual year-end event finds the Garden transformed into a glistening holiday market featuring the Gallery of Wreaths, a Garden tradition offering one-of-a-kind wreaths created by some of the area’s most talented designers and artists. A holiday plant sale features hand-selected flowering plants, traditional centerpieces and holiday swags, and regional craft vendors offer a range of products from hand-made giftware and jewelry to beeswax and felted products. GERMANTOWN — A Holiday Bazaar sponsored by the tenants of Palatine Manor will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Manor, 32 Church Ave., Germantown. SCHODACK LANDING — The Reformed Dutch Church of Schodack at Muitzeskill, 902 Schodack Landing Road, Schodack Landing, annual Christmas Bazaar will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 7. The Christmas Bazaar will include new and gently used Christmas decorations, cards, gifts, and books, as well as a Luncheon Cafe and a Bake Sale. KINDERHOOK — Parents Night Out 5-8 p.m. Dec. 7 and Dec. 21 at the Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21 Broad St., Kinderhook. Free child care for kids 3 and older with dinner provided.
