PLATTEKILL — Two men and a woman, all from Coxsackie, were charged with felony drug possession following a traffic stop on the New York State Thruway in Ulster County, according to state police.

Mark J. Deso Jr., 27, the driver of the vehicle, and two passengers, Michael C. Harrington, 24, and Frances E. Carter, 32, were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, state police said.

State police stopped a vehicle Saturday about 11 p.m. on the Thruway in the town of Plattekill for multiple vehicle and traffic violations, state police said.

After interviewing the driver, troopers searched the vehicle and occupants, state police said.

Approximately 2.5 ounces of heroin was discovered in the search, according to state police.

All three were taken to state police barracks in Newburgh and given appearance tickets for Plattekill Town Court on June 5 at 2 p.m., state police said.
