What do you think is the top issue facing your community?

The amenable negotiation of a full tax value for the Athens Generating facility.

What would you do to address this issue if elected?

I would open the door and seek to reasonably negotiate with Athens Gen to establish their tax value. Explaining that the PILOT has done what it was meant to do, and full tax value is the proper course of action to solidify our revenue base for the people of Athens.

Why do you think you will be a good supervisor/trustee?

I fully understand that importance of a hard-working staff, making improvements to our infrastructure, seeking progress and that difficult decisions must be addressed to continue to move forward. Striving to improve efficiency, maintaining lines of communication and solving problems before they become catastrophes.

What are you most proud of accomplishing if you hold office? Not an office holder.

If you are a newcomer, what are you looking forward to accomplishing if elected?

Getting Athens Gen on the tax rolls at full value, as all other personal and commercial properties within the town of Athens. Resolution of maintaining the town of Athens offices within the village of Athens. Keeping our central area of business and services together with our other everyday life needs: school, post office, library, citizen and youth athletics, entertainment and facilities, etc. The removal and cleanup of our waterfront from derelict, sunken barges, that have been there since I came in 1986. Further discussions and analysis of the Coxsackie-Athens School District plans to create kindergarten class that will include children bused in.

I worked in conjunction with the Athens Village Board to acquire fire hydrants for the fire district. I designed and built the bandstand in Athens Village Park that is used for concerts and events for the village and town. I have extensive knowledge in zoning, planning and building codes.
