HUDSON — A construction worker was injured Tuesday when the mini-excavator he was operating fell off a trailer in Hudson, Lt. Dave Miller of the Hudson Police Department said Wednesday.

The unidentified man, 66, from Catskill, was taken to Columbia Memorial Health by Greenport Rescue Squad with back and arm pain, Miller said.

The accident happened at about 2:52 p.m., in front of 345 Warren St.

The worker is employed by Visage Construction Corporation of Germantown, which was working at a site on Warren Street, Miller said. The man was attempting to back the mini-excavator off the rear of the trailer when it accidentally tipped off the side and partially landed on the sidewalk, Miller said.

Hudson Fire Department was sent by Columbia County 911 to the scene to clean up a fuel spill from the excavator.

Warren Street was closed to traffic between 3rd and 4th streets until the accident was cleared.

Hudson Police investigated.
