CATSKILL — Two women were arrested and charged Monday after an altercation at a Catskill home, said Steven Nevel, public information officer for state police Troop K.

Tina Lewis, 32, of Hudson, and Tiffany Shaw, 34, of Catskill, were both charged with second-degree burglary of a dwelling, a class C felony; third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony; and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, Nevel said.

Shaw was also charged with assault, a class D felony, and another count of criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor, Nevel said.

On Monday, at about 4 p.m., the two women entered the home after Shaw kicked open the door, Nevel said.

A verbal altercation ensued and turned physical when the women smashed a television, Nevel said.

The altercation happened with children playing in the home, Nevel said. Police did not disclose if anyone was injured or the relationship between the women and the resident of the home.

Lewis and Shaw were given appearance tickets for Catskill Town Court.
