SAUGERTIES — A Greene County woman who is a former employee at the Holiday Inn Express in Saugerties was charged with stealing money from the hotel safe, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph A. Sinagra said.

Kristi D. Azadian, 32, of Tannersville, who has been charged with petty larceny, was observed on video footage entering the hotel on June 11 at about 10:54 p.m., going into the manager’s officer, opening a safe and removing an undisclosed amount of cash, Sinagra said.

She was then observed on video concealing the money in her blouse and leaving the hotel, Sinagra said.

Saugerties police responded to the hotel, located at 2777 Route 32 on June 12, when the theft was reported by hotel management, Sinagra said.

Azadian was located by officers and taken into custody, Sinagra said.

Azadian was processed at Saugerties police headquarters and released with an appearance ticket for Saugerties Town Court on Aug. 5, Sinagra said.
