SAUGERTIES — A Greene County man faces multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, following a one-car accident Saturday morning in Saugerties, according to police.

Bilal Ahmad, 23, of Palenville, was arrested after the crash, which occurred on railroad tracks, and charged with driving while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor, and traffic infractions including passing a stop sign, unsafe lane change and obstructing a highway-railroad grade crossing, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said.

Not for nothing, but that stop sign coming from the village to the intersection is not at ALL visible due to overgrowth on the side of the road, until you are approximately 10 feet from it.
