CATSKILL — A man from New Hampshire was arrested on felony drug charges following a traffic stop Sunday morning in Catskill, said Steven Nevel, public information officer for state police Troop F.

Michael Connor, 52, of Goffstown, also faces several misdemeanor charges, Nevel said.

At about 12:58 a.m., troopers observed a Ford Fusion being driven on county Route 23B in the town of Catskill, in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with Connor. While they were talking, troopers could smell the odor of alcohol. Connor was asked to get out of the vehicle for further evaluation, Nevel said.

Connor was found to be in possession of a switchblade. A search of his vehicle revealed that he was also in possession of LSD, multiple glass containers containing cocaine residue and a black digital scale, which also contained cocaine residue, Nevel said.

Connor was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all class A misdemeanors, Nevel said.

Connor was arraigned in Town of Catskill Court before Justice William R. Jacobs and was released on his own recognizance.
