CAIRO — A motorcycle driver was taken to Albany Medical Center on Monday night following an accident in Cairo, Sgt. Rick Busch of Cairo Police said.
The driver, who was not identified by police, injured his leg in the crash, Busch said.
On Monday, at about 7:11 p.m., Greene County 911 sent Cairo Fire Company and Cairo Ambulance to 861 Route 145, after receiving reports of the accident.
Witnesses to the accident told police a deer ran into the path of the motorcycle and the bike crashed while the driver attempted to avoid it, Busch said.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was brought to Albany.
A Life Net helicopter was placed on standby but was not needed.
Route 145 was down to one lane of alternating traffic while crews worked.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene.
Town of Cairo Police investigated.
