Police: Catskill sex offender arrested on new charges

CATSKILL — A Greene County man has been charged with seven counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child, a felony, according to state police.

Peter J. Lentz, 37, of Catskill, was arrested May 5, after an investigation by State Police at Catskill’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and State Police Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, who found multiple photographs of child pornography on his computer, state police said.

Lentz is serving a sentence of 10 years probation for first-degree sexual abuse and possession of child pornography, state police said.

Lentz is also a registered sex offender, state police said.

After being charged, Lentz was handed an appearance ticket for Catskill Town Court on June 25 at 3 p.m.
