ALBANY — On the heels of a National Grid announcement that energy customers can expect an estimated 39% hike in their natural gas bills this winter, the New York State Department of Public Service is set to hold a series of public meetings on a proposed New York State Electric & Gas Corporation rate hike.

NYSEG, which provides electric service to portions of Greene and Columbia counties, has requested that the New York State Public Service Commission approve proposed changes to annual electric and natural gas delivery rates.
