COXSACKIE — A local business donated a number of appliances to those in need Wednesday.

Ferguson Enterprises delivered a tractor-trailer filled with scratch-and-dent appliances to the village’s storage building.

Fifteen refrigerators, eight stoves and three washer/dryer combinations will be distributed to residents in need through the Coxsackie Area Food Pantry, Coxsackie-Athens Rotary and Greene County Department for the Aging.

The company has made a number of donations over the years. The donated items include a mower and park benches, Village Mayor Mark Evans said.

“We would like to thank Ferguson and the Coxsackie site manager Andrew Scarpinati for such a gracious and unique donation, and we are happy to assist in the distribution of these items,” Evans said.

Anyone in need of these appliances should contact the village clerk at 518-731-2718.

Any remaining items may be sold with the proceeds going to a local charity, Evans said.
