LEEDS — A fire in a mobile home Wednesday left a Leeds family homeless, Leeds Fire Chief Thomas McCullough said.

At about 3:24 p.m., Greene County 911 sent Leeds Fire Department to the Stonegate Mobile Home Park at 62 Porto Road after receiving reports of a mobile home on fire.

When firefighters arrived, they reported a fire in the kitchen and requested mutual-aid assistance from West Athens and Cairo fire companies, McCullough said.

The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes, and was contained to one room.

No injuries to the home’s occupants or firefighters were reported, McCullough said.

The family that lived in the home will be staying elsewhere until repairs can be made, McCullough said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Greene County Fire Investigation Team and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, McCullough said.

Catskill Code Enforcement Officer Elliot Fishman and Central Hudson Gas and Electric were requested to the fire scene. Town of Catskill Ambulance and state police assisted.
