CATSKILL — A Columbia County man and a man from Florida were arrested Saturday and charged related to an alleged theft at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Catskill Commons, according to the Catskill Village Police Department.

William Risch, 52, of Hudson, was arraigned in Coxsackie Town Court on a charge of one count of grand larceny, said Lt. Daniel Waer of the Catskill Village Police Department. Risch was ordered held in the Greene County Jail without bail.

Police accused Risch of stealing hundreds of dollars worth of Cobalt and DeWalt brand tools from the store about 4 p.m. Saturday, Waer said. A grand larceny charge results from the alleged theft of goods valued at $1,000 or more.

Phillip Wilson, 40, whose address police gave only as Florida, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in connection with the theft, Waer said. He was issued a ticket for a future court appearance.
