COVID rise spurs mask recommendation

File photo Greene Count Public Health has issued a recommendation for people to wear masks in public and in public transportation due to an upswing in the number of COVID cases. The statement is optional, not a requirement or a mandate. Columbia County issued an identical statement Tuesday.

CATSKILL — An increase in the number of COVID cases has prompted health departments in Greene and Columbia counties to recommend people wear masks in public places.

The statements are not mandates or orders and are strictly voluntary at this time.
