Cafe/furniture showroom to open on Catskill’s Main Street

The former Enoki Catskill, an Asian food store at 393 Main St. in Catskill, will be the future site of Studioflot, a new cafe/furniture showroom set to open in January.

CATSKILL — A new business will be opening its doors on Main Street in January.

Studioflot, a cafe and furniture showroom space, will be opening in mid-January in the space formerly occupied by Enoki Catskill.

Enoki Catskill, a specialty grocery store featuring an Asian pantry and foraged goods, closed its doors Saturday, after announcing the business is moving its shop to Saugerties from its Catskill location.

The owners of Enoki Catskill declined to comment on the move, but they announced it on Instagram.

“We are extremely grateful to share that we are moving out of our Catskill location into a larger storefront in the village of Saugerties in early 2024,” according to Enoki Catskill’s Instagram post. “We came to this decision because of a number of reasons, but mostly because we feel a larger space will allow us to fully realize the potential for Enoki Catskill that we’ve always envisioned.”

Alexander Adams, the owner of Studioflot, said the establishment will serve as a living showroom for Adams to sell his furniture, while showcasing it in the space.

The store in Catskill will be the company’s first physical location. Adams said the space is going to be built around a tier system.

“The space is going to be a tiered showroom for furniture, but built around the second tier, which is the cafe,” he said.

Adams said a third tier in the space will focus on programming, such as film screenings and live music, while also selling limited Korean pantry items.

This will be the first physical location for Studioflot. Adams runs the business in Athens, where he builds and sells his furniture primarily online.

“I’m excited, this is going to be the first time that I’m going to be able to show objects in real life,” he said.

He added he expects the store to have a soft opening in mid-January and have a full opening at the end of January or beginning of February.
