A call for food security as Thanksgiving approaches

U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on Thursday called for $1.93 billion in fiscal year 2023 for nutritional programs under the Older Americans Act.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act’s nutrition program, which has supported nutrition services for older adults in the United States in many ways since its inception in 1972, including local senior centers, home deliveries and financial support for local agencies.
