CATSKILL — An elderly man was taken to Albany Medical Center on Saturday night after he was struck by a car in Catskill.

The man suffered minor cuts to his right hand and forehead. He was taken to Albany Medical Center for further evaluation, said Steven Nevel, public information officer for state police Troop F on Monday.

Police did not identify the man or the driver of the vehicle, which was a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

At about 10:25 p.m., Greene County 911 sent Catskill Fire Company and Catskill Ambulance to the parking lot of Cumberland Farms in Jefferson Heights after receiving a report that a 94-year-old man had been struck by a car.

Paramedics examined the man before taking him to Albany for further evaluation, Nevel said.

Catskill fire officials determined that fire apparatus was not needed at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep was not charged. The investigation determined that this was an accident. There was no impairment involved, Nevel said.

A Life Net helicopter was placed on stand-by, but was not needed.

State police investigated.
