STUYVESANT — A recent attempted break-in at a home in Stuyvesant is under investigation, Aaron Hicks, public information officer for State Police Troop K said Wednesday.

State police were sent to the home on Route 9J on Oct. 5,after the homeowners reported the attempted break-in, Hicks said.

Two unidentified suspects broke a lock to the house and were chased off when the home’s alarm system sounded, Hicks said.

Images of the two suspects, on an outdoor patio, were captured by home security cameras, Hicks said.

The same suspects are believed to have returned to the same house Oct. 7, but were scared off by the residents, who were home at the time.

There have been no other reports of break-ins in the area of the Stuyvesant burglary, Hicks said.

There have been a few others in the county, but they are not believed to be related to this one, Hicks said.

Police are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call State Police at (845) 677-7300. Please refer to case No. 9858723, Hicks said.
