HUDSON — A Hudson man was arrested on a warrant Wednesday and charged with felony drug possession stemming from a raid in February at his Allen Street apartment, Hudson Police Chief L. Edward Moore said.
Johnny L. Copeland Jr., 31, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, narcotic drug, according to Hudson police.
Both are class B felonies, Moore said.
The warrant was issued in Columbia County Superior Court, Moore said.
When Hudson police executed a search warrant at Copeland’s apartment on Allen Street on Feb. 13, a quantity of fentanyl, a narcotic, was seized, along with a scale and numerous white glassine envelopes, Moore said.
Copeland was arraigned Wednesday in Columbia County Court by Judge Jonathan Nichols and was released pending his next court appearance Thursday, Moore said.
State police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office assisted Hudson police with the investigation and arrest, Moore said.
