Naramore declared winner of Kinderhook town council seat

KINDERHOOK — Democrat Sally Naramore was declared the winner of a seat on the town board Thursday after the Columbia County Board of Elections completed a manual recount of the ballots.

The recount affirmed that Naramore was the winner of the close race. With more than 3,000 votes cast, Naramore edged out Republican challenger George J. Graham by seven votes.

Naramore is the first Democrat to be elected to the Kinderhook Town Board as either supervisor or town council member in 16 years.
