HUDSON — More than 1,000 people packed city streets Sunday for the first Latinx Parade and Festival in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The inaugural community event, hosted by the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement and the Hudson Tourism Board, featured a parade of about 250 participants showcasing the cultures of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Peru, Honduras and Colombia.
