CLERMONT — The cause of a fire Thursday morning in Clermont is under investigation.
Fire damaged the two-story wood-frame home at 3 Cedar Hill Road.
At about 6:48 a.m., Columbia County 911 sent Clermont Fire Company to the scene after receiving reports of a fire at that location.
When firefighters arrived at the home, they went to work extinguishing the blaze. They concentrated on the second floor of the residence.
Three neighboring fire companies — Germantown, Livingston and Tivoli — were placed on standby in their own quarters but were not needed.
The Columbia County Cause and Origin Team was called to the scene to investigate.
Fire officials asked for the town code enforcement officer to respond to the home.
Cedar Hill Road was closed in the area of the fire while crews worked.
Assisting at the scene were Northern Dutchess Paramedics, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbia County Cause and Origin Team.
All firefighters were back in service at 10:22 a.m.
