VALATIE — All schools in the Ichabod Crane Central School District will be closed to in-person instruction Monday after a positive COVID-19 case was found in the primary school, according to the district.

Students in grades 4-12 will learn remotely Monday. There will be no school for students in kindergarten to third grade because devices are not yet available for remote learning in those grades, according to the district.

The positive COVID test was for a student in the primary school.

“To err on the side of extreme caution we have decided to have all K-12 students stay home tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 26, until the DOH (Department of Health) completes their contact tracing investigation,” according to a letter sent to families Sunday night. “Although the positive case is in the Primary School, we are closing all buildings while we identify all associations of the positive student including siblings.”
