KINDERHOOK — A Columbia County woman was taken to Albany Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon following a two-car accident in Kinderhook, Aaron Hicks, public information officer for state police Troop K said.

Betty Foss, 92, of Hudson had minor injuries. The other driver, James Hollister, 55, of Kinderhook, was not injured, Hicks said.

At about 11:55 a.m., a 2018 Toyota Corolla was being driven north on Route 9H by Foss, when she attempted to make a left turn onto Keegan Road and failed to yield the right of way, striking a 2013 Toyota Tacoma driven south on Route 9H by Hollister, Hicks said.

Foss’s car left the road and struck a tree before coming to rest.

Columbia County 911 sent Niverville Fire Department and Valatie Rescue Squad to the scene.

One southbound lane of Route 9H and part of Keegan Road was closed while crews worked.

Foss’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

State police investigated.

All firefighters were back in service at 12:29 p.m.
