HUDSON — Police are searching for a man from Florida who was last seen in Hudson after he was reported missing, Hudson Police Chief L. Edward Moore said Wednesday.

Jessie L. Webster, 44, of Lakeland, Florida, was last seen on Friday morning at about 11:00 a.m., in the area of Schuyler Court on Columbia Street, Moore said.

Webster was in Hudson visiting friends and relatives who live in the area, according to police.

Hudson police became involved after they were contacted about Webster’s disappearance by a concerned family member, Moore said.

They were concerned about Webster because of the manner in which he left — not saying goodbye or telling anyone he was leaving, Moore said.

Since his disappearance, Hudson police have conducted numerous interviews with friends, relatives and acquaintances of Webster, hoping to get more information on his whereabouts and his condition.

“We are continuing to follow leads in the case and hopefully it will help to locate Webster,” Moore said.

All police agencies in the area and police in central Florida have information on Webster and are keeping an eye out for him, Moore said.

Information on Webster has also been posted on social media and was sent to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse, which is operated through the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Moore said.

Police have received no information that Webster may be in danger, but they want to confirm that he is safe before they can close the case, Moore said.

Anyone with information on Webster’s whereabouts is asked to contact Hudson police at 518-828-3388.

The city of Lakeland is located in Polk County, Florida. It is about halfway between Tampa and Orlando on Interstate 4.

Lakeland’s population was listed as 107,922 in 2019.
