HUDSON — City police are investigating reports of shots fired Monday afternoon, Hudson Police Chief L. Edward Moore said.

Police were called to an area of South 1st Street and Cherry Alley at about 5 p.m. after receiving numerous reports from residents that they heard several gunshots, Moore said.

There were no reports of anyone being injured, Moore said.

Police recovered several shell casings in Cherry Alley, which was cordoned off by police between South 1st and Front sStreets, as they continue to search for more evidence, Moore said.

Hudson police are being assisted by members of the state police, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and Town of Greenport Police. Monday’s shooting incident occurred close to the same area as a March 28 shots-fired incident, Moore said.
