Hudson man charged with burglary

Jason Dominguez

SAUGERTIES — A Columbia County man faces several charges following an alleged physical domestic violence incident Sunday in Glasco, according to the Saugerties Police Department.

Jason Dominguez, 37, of Hudson, was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, according to police.

Dominguez was arraigned in Town of Saugerties Justice Court and released on his own recognizance as the court issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim and the victim’s child, according to police.

Saugerties police responded Sunday to a report of a physical domestic incident at 87 Delaware St., in Glasco, in the town of Saugerties.

Dominguez is accused of forcing his way into the victim’s home and throwing the victim to the floor after taking the victim’s cell phone so as to prevent the victim from calling police, according to investigators.

The victim’s 9-year-old daughter was home at the time of the incident and witnessed the alleged assault, according to investigators.

Officers arrested Dominguez and took him to Saugerties Police Headquarters to be processed on the charges, according to police.

Dominguez is scheduled to reappear in Town of Saugerties Justice Court on April 19 to answer to the charges, according to police.
