GREENPORT — A positive COVID-19 case has caused the Bank of Greene County to temporarily close its Greenport and Hudson branches, the bank said in a statement Friday.

Both branches will be deep cleaned over the weekend, according to the statement.

Bank officials did not say if the positive case was an employee or a customer.

The bank is working closely with Columbia County Department of Health officials regarding the situation, according to the statement.

The Greenport branch will reopen for drive-thru service Monday.

It is unclear when the Hudson branch will reopen, according to the statement.

All bank locations continue to follow existing safety measures including clear shields for desks and teller lines, hand-sanitizing stations, required face coverings and social-distancing markers, according to the statement.

Other branches and office locations have not been impacted, according to the statement.

The bank continues to encourage customers to use no-contact alternatives such as online banking and the mobile app, drive-thru lanes, ATMs, Telebank and the Customer Service Center.
