CLAVERACK — An unidentified driver was taken to Albany Medical Center on Friday night following a one-car accident in Claverack.

Priscilla Blanchard, 47 was injured in the crash. Her injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, Beau Duffy, director of information for state police said.

At about 9:18 p.m., a car being driven north on Stottville Road by Blanchard, suddenly veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Columbia County 911 sent Claverack Fire Department, Mellenville Fire Company and Valatie Rescue Squad to the scene in the area of 82 Stottville Road after receiving reports of the crash.

Paramedics treated Blanchard at the scene before she was taken to Albany. Greenport Rescue Squad assisted.

Fire police closed the road while crews worked.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and charges are pending, Duffy said.

The car was towed from the scene.

State police investigated. They were assisted by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

All fire companies were back in service at 10:06 p.m.
