MELLENVILLE — A Columbia County woman was taken to Albany Medical Center on Sunday night following a one-car accident in Mellenville, Lt. John Rivero of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said.

Suvi Freccia, 22, of Craryville complained of body pain after the crash, Rivero said.

At about 11:44 p.m., Columbia County 911 sent Mellenville Fire Company and Greenport Rescue Squad to Route 217, in the area of Roxbury Road, after receiving reports that a car had struck a utility pole and rolled over.

Freccia was driving east on Route 217 and failed to maintain her lane of travel, Rivero said.

Arriving firefighters worked to remove Freccia from the vehicle before she was examined by paramedics.

Fire police closed Route 217 in the area of the crash.

The car was towed from the scene.

New York State Electric and Gas responded to replace the pole.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigated.

All firefighters were back in service at 12:40 a.m.
