Terrance M. "Terry" Oravec Catskill - Terrance M. "Terry" Oravec, age 74 years, went to be with his Savior Jesus on April 24, 2024.
He was born on November 27, 1949, and is the son of the late John and Madeline (Mahar) Oravec.
Survivors include his sister Louise/Lou Anne (George)Fleury of Cairo, N.Y., brothers Timothy Oravec of Cairo, N.Y. and Martin (Sherry)Oravec of Rio Rancho, NM, his loving girlfriend of 25 years Patti Schloss of Catskill, NY, maternal aunt, Carolyn Bush of Rensselaer, NY and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, especially the light of his life, his niece and Goddaughter Veronica (Fleury) Cooke.
Terry was a former member, and avid fundraiser of the Stottville, Cairo and Catskill NY Fire Companies. He was a member of The NYS Fire Police and committed to serve yearly on the Pumpkin Patrol for the N.Y.S. Police.
Terry loved bowling, NASCAR, the WWE, and winning lottery scratch-offs. (which was surprisingly often). Nothing was as important to Terry as his family and his friends. His extreme loyalty and kindness were truly displayed by his giving 14 gallons of blood to The Red Cross. He traveled to help with clean-up in areas that suffered natural disasters.
Terry's amazing personality, while often quirky, will be missed and has left a huge home in the lives and hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services will be held at Richards Funeral Home of the Mid-Hudson Valley, Inc., 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y., 12413, on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home the same day at 6:30 p.m.
