GERMANTOWN — The Germantown Garden Club will hold its first meeting of the year at noon Feb. 25 in the Hover Room at the Germantown Library, 31 Palatine Park Road, Germantown. Each year, the club puts together a series of meetings, field trips, and events that revolve around a theme. This year’s theme is “Gardening in Our Changing Environment.” Two new watchwords are sustainability and biodiversity. This year we will focus on these ideas on a smaller scale; how we and our gardens are impacted by the changing environment. We will look at our weather vs. climate, how to identify and attract different pollinators, minimizing the impact of our gardens on the environment, and preparing for a natural disaster. At this meeting, the club will discuss the programs for 2020. Find out what garden clubs are all about, meet other gardeners from the area, and enjoy some refreshments. Meetings are always open to the public. For information, call Fran Bufi at 518-537-4868.
