TIVOLI – Tivoli Artists Gallery presents its next show spotlighting art that evokes the meaning of the place where we dwell. “HOME” runs March 20 – April 12, 2020 with an artists opening reception on Sat., March 21 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the gallery, an informal mixer to meet the artists and network with the local community; free of charge. The exhibit will feature a diverse mix of selections from many of TAG’s members – with works that reflect the diversity of a place called home - from fondness, nurturing and heartwarming feelings, to those that are more challenging, transient and thought-provoking.

According to show curator and TAG member Elisabeth Barnett, “I felt the notion of home was a meaningful concept to explore. What conjures up caring, and personal history, what feels safe? Artists will be presenting work in any media of their choice, and beyond just one dimension.” The monthly TAG shows give members a chance to take the helm each time. “I’m so excited to curate this show, my first here. It’s rewarding to brainstorm ideas.”

Case in point, Barnett took it upon herself to seek sponsors for the show, and zeroed in on the perfect tie-in, premier realtors in the Northern Dutchess region. Owner Gary Di Mauro of Gary Di Mauro Real Estate in Tivoi and marketing director Amy Wallace of Coldwell Banker-Village Green Reality in Rhinebeck are co-sponsoring the HOME exhibit. Their donations will go toward the presentation and preparation of the show, and gives them some added exposure too (by way of postcard mentions, social media and e-newsletter acknowledgments and on-site gallery signage). “I love a good promotional tie-in. This just came to me!” Barnett exclaims.

Tivoli Artists Gallery hopes to employ this innovative tie-in idea with future shows if there is the right fit. With each show centering on a certain theme, the opportunity exists for more collaborations in the business community. “We look forward to seeing where this idea can go,” chimes in Marie Cole, a TAG steering committee member. Tivoli has become a destination for the arts in the Hudson Valley and TAG, now in its 27th year, has been a mainstay for artists and arts enthusiasts from all over the region. All artwork on display is also for sale.
