Saturday, July 24 from 4 -6 p.m., Main Street / Rt 23 in Stamford

STAMFORD — The Roxbury Arts Group is excited to present Porchfest in Stamford on July 24 from 4-6 p.m.. Porchfest is a unique event with over a dozen local music acts playing all at one time on porches and front lawns up and down Main Street / Route 23 in the heart of Stamford. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket, walk up and down Main Street and visit as many musicians as they would like. The music is diverse - from rock to classical, from Americana to oldies - with something for everyone. This is a free community event for all to come and enjoy! For more information on Porchfest, visit roxburyartsgroup.org, on facebook or by calling 607.326.7908.

Porchfest is a national community & music movement that began in Ithaca in 2007 with a handful of musicians within a neighborhood that wanted to bring the community together around music and friends. It is with this same spirit that the Roxbury Arts Group has organized a Porchfest in Stamford, bringing together over a dozen regional bands and inviting guests from near and far to enjoy the music and the Stamford community.

“The Stamford homeowners and businesses have been so wonderful and excited to lend their space to Porchfest” says Jenny Rosenzweig, Executive Director of the Roxbury Arts Group. “The enthusiasm of the musicians has been awesome. Both performers and audiences alike are ready for some live music and a good time!”

Music acts for Porchfest include: Adam Ippolito (singer/ pianist of Pop, jazz, blues and R&B), Ann Osmond & Dennis Yerry (jazz cabaret with piano), Catskill Music Consort (trio on flutes and guitar), Doug Decker (music you forgot you loved), Eddie & Bird Dog of the Watershed Prophets (rock n’ roll & Americana), George Kilby, Jr. (Americana with New Orleans flair), Jim Kopp (guitar classics you’ll know), John Van Benschoten (folk, bluegrass, mountain banjo music), Loren Daniels Trio (jazz on piano, bass and drums), Muccino (alternative, rock, folk and piano), Paul Murphy (acoustic folk), Story Laurie (playful, whimsical songs for families), and Uncle Shake (rag rock, acoustic guitar, bass, keys/horns).
