The Ghent Playhouse Presents Louise Penny’s “Still Life” as a Radio Play January 13-14

GHENT — The Ghent Playhouse presents a charming, plot-twist-filled radio play written by Eric Alexandre, based on Louise Penny’s first novel “Still Life,” and directed by Cathy Lee-Visscher. The all-star cast includes actors, directors, and fellow non-profit leaders and enthusiasts. Proceeds from this production, which runs Saturday and Sunday, January 13 and 14, will benefit the Columbia County Recovery Kitchen.

“In our 49th Anniversary Season, we want to show our appreciation to the community for their support. For that reason, we are donating all proceeds from these two performances to the Columbia County Recovery Kitchen,” said Ghent Playhouse Artistic Director Cathy Lee-Visscher. “You get to enjoy a live performance of this masterful mystery starring some of our favorite regional leaders while supporting CCRK in their mission to provide nutrition-rich, balanced meals to our Columbia County neighbors in need.”

The cast of “Still Life” includes Robert Zukerman, Kevin Weldon, Sky Vogel, Wendy Spielmann, Linda Romeo, Johnna Murray, Brad Lohrenz, Lael Locke, Peter LaVigne, Amy Hausknecht, Brandon Gearing, Richard Byrne and Nick Van Alstine.

Synopsis

The dead body of a well-loved teacher and artist is found in the woods at Three Pines, a small village in Quebec so free from crime it doesn’t even have its own police force. Chief Inspector Gamache and his team soon realize that what appears to be accidental death is murder.

About the Columbia County Recovery Kitchen

The mission at the Columbia County Recovery Kitchen, a 501-c3, volunteer-driven organization, is to prepare and deliver nutrient-rich, balanced meals to vulnerable adults and children. Using donated fresh local farm food, chefs Tommy Carlucci and Kathy Silliman and volunteer cooks and drivers offer this uniquely beneficial service to those suffering food insecurity. CCRK began in April 2020, in response to the Covid pandemic. Two hundred dinners were prepared the first week. Today more than 1,150 cost-free meals are delivered throughout the county each week.
