Saugerties Pro Musica’s 25th Season continues with internationally renowned musicians Ani Kalayjian, Cello, Grammy winner Keiko Tokunaga, violin, & pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski, performing a World Premier Trio composed by Polina Nazakinskaya, and classical music inspired by European folk songs by composers such as: Joseph Haydn, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Astor Piazzolla.
A Saugerties Pro Musica audience favorite, this will be Ms Kalayjian’s fourth appearance with us, but her first in our brand new pandemic inspired format. Instead of the usual live Sunday concerts at Saugerties United Methodist Church, (which we hope to resume next year) Saugerties Pro Musica is presenting a series of five free pre-recorded concerts airing on LighthouseTV on (and around) the originally scheduled date and time, that will also be available “on demand” afterwards. You don’t have to be a Saugerties resident to access this website: http://www.saugertieslighthousetv.com/ and click on LIVE STREAM.
Ani Kalayjian / Cello - Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “representing the young, up-and-coming generation,” and a “superb cellist with a large, expressive, singing tone, passionate musicianship, and magnificent playing” by the Journal Tribune, Armenian-American cellist Ani Kalayjian enjoys a prolific career as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and educator.
Konstantin Soukhovetski / Piano - 2019 Innovation Award Winner from Music Academy Of The West, Konstantin has a uniquely diverse artistic voice that reaches out to both classical and popular audiences.
Konstantin’s multidisciplinary collaboration frequently involves dance and film.
Keiko Tokunaga / Violin - Winner of the 2019 GRAMMY Award for Best Chamber Music/ Small Ensemble Performance, violinist Keiko Tokunaga spends most of her days touring and performing globally as a soloist and chamber musician, notably touring and recording extensively with the internationally acclaimed and award-winning Attacca Quartet from 2005 to 2019.
