COPAKE – Explore the link between color and emotion through the work of famed abstract artist Mark Rothko with this Zoom workshop on Thursday, February 18, at 7 p.m.

Hosted by Roeliff Jansen Community Library’s Children’s and Youth Services Associate and professional artist Tia Maggio, this FREE program will reference Rothko’s work to better understand the effect color has on our emotions and how art influences our psychology. The Latvian-American painter, whose work has grown substantially in popularity since his death in 1970, was known for both his murals and color field paintings, and was a key figure in the abstract expressionism movement.

Open to teens and adults. Participants are asked to have white paper and pastels available to use. Please email to register.
